After completing a Bachelor in Philosophy at LMU Munich, Katharina studied directing at the HFF Munich.
Her films have screened at various international festivals such as the Brussels Short Film Fest or the New York International Children's Film Festival and have won prizes such as the Short Tiger Award or the Prix Europa.
The films she directs can be characterized by a love for absurdity and the desire to create a little bit of hope.
